Our sustainability journey
We’re committed to creating a fair and sustainable future for everyone in Australia — now and for generations to come.
Building a sustainable future
Mission Australia is committed to creating a fair and sustainable future for everyone in Australia. Our sustainability approach focuses on three interconnected areas:
-
Environmental sustainability — reducing our footprint and helping communities adapt to climate change.
-
Social impact — fostering safe, inclusive and thriving communities.
-
Responsible governance — ensuring transparency, ethics, and integrity in all we do.

Building a sustainable future together
We know that climate, health, homes and wellbeing are all connected. Mission Australia is committed to achieving net zero by 2050. We’re taking action to use less energy, create less waste and source responsibly. We also support people and communities to build resilience in the face of climate change.

Creating lasting social impact
We strive to make the greatest positive impact across Australia through our services, social homes and advocacy. We want everyone to feel safe, welcome and included. We work alongside people from all backgrounds with respect, and we value the skills and compassion of our staff from all walks of life.

Governance built on values and trust
We have policies to ensure our decisions and actions are responsible, transparent and ethical.
Our Corporate Governance Statement shows how our values guide our governance and confirms compliance with standards set by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Working together towards reconciliation
Mission Australia is committed to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to heal the wounds of the past and move together into the future.
