Safe, secure and affordable homes for all

Supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
through housing services, prevention and tailored support.

What we do

We work with people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homelessness, helping them find and stay living in a stable home. We also provide ongoing, tailored support so people can stay housed, build independence and reach their full potential.

Mission Australia is working to end homelessness in Australia and wherever possible, prevent it before it happens. When people do experience homelessness, we support the Housing First approach: securing a home first, then connecting people with the support they need to thrive.

Building stability through housing and support

Mission Australia is one of the largest providers of both community housing and homelessness services in Australia. We share deep experience in providing homes and services to those experiencing homelessness and seeking housing support.

We work towards ending homelessness through our homelessness services, specialist aged care, youth and other supported housing, and social and affordable homes managed by our Tier 1 Community Housing Provider, Mission Australia Housing.

We know from our experience and the data that people and families who are homeless are mostly hidden from plain sight.

There is a serious shortage of social and affordable housing, among rising living and rental costs.

What we advocate for

We advocate for building more social and affordable homes with support available as needed, and greater investment in homelessness prevention to help end homelessness in Australia. Everyone deserves a safe, secure place to call home and the opportunity to thrive.

Finding stability and strength after homelessness

The journey out of homelessness can be challenging, especially when mental health is affected. Without the stability of a secure home, it becomes harder to focus on healing, setting goals or planning for the future.
