Our people

From frontline workers to volunteers and leaders, our team works together to create hope and possibility for communities across Australia.

Together, building hope and possibility for all

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Across Australia, more than 2,500 staff and over 1,000 volunteers contribute their time, skills and care to support people and communities.

Whether working in service hubs, outreach vans, offices or behind the scenes, each person plays a part in creating real change—guided by a shared purpose and belief in a better future.

A diverse and inclusive workplace

We welcome people from all backgrounds, beliefs and identities. At Mission Australia, we’re committed to cultural safety, inclusion and respect.

Our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Strategy guide our commitment to truth-telling, healing and partnership.

We’re also proud to be a recognised Disability Confident Recruiter through the Australian Disability Network.

Creating a culturally safe organisation is everyone’s responsibility, from the Board to our frontline staff, and I am proud of the work we continue to do in this space.

Championing gender equality

We’re committed to gender equity and an inclusive workplace. In 2024, most of our leaders are women, and our gender pay gap continues to close.

The power of volunteering

Every year, our volunteers give over 41,000 hours to help make a difference. From mentoring and admin support to community engagement and fundraising, volunteers bring energy, commitment and heart to our mission.
