Mission Australia to deliver tenancy support in East Perth

Mission Australia has been appointed as the tenancy support provider for the East Perth Common Ground facility, following a successful tender process. The announcement marks a significant step forward in providing long-term housing stability and wraparound support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Western Australia.

Support services will include case management, access to healthcare and wellbeing services, and pathways to education, training and employment.

East Perth Common Ground nearing completion

The Common Ground model combines permanent, affordable housing with tailored, on-site support to help residents sustain their tenancies, improve wellbeing and build brighter futures.

Once complete, the East Perth facility will include 112 self-contained apartments – many reserved for people experiencing homelessness – along with communal spaces, 24/7 on-site support and commercial space.

Construction is expected to be completed in September 2025.

Building on experience to end homelessness

Mission Australia State Director WA Sue Budalich said the organisation brings significant experience in delivering housing and support services for vulnerable people.

“Mission Australia is proud to deliver tenancy support services at the new East Perth Common Ground,” Ms Budalich said.

“Our tenancy support staff will work closely with residents to help them towards independence, stay living in their homes, improve their wellbeing and restore hope.

We’re committed to ending homelessness and believe everyone should have a safe, secure home.

This tailored, person-centred support at Common Ground aligns with the State Government’s strategy and we're looking forward to helping residents remain safely housed.”

East Perth will be Mission Australia’s second Common Ground facility, following the successful launch of Common Ground Sydney (Camperdown) in 2011.
